– Friendly kitty who likes being petted gently; may climb into your lap and ask for ear and face rubs when she’s in the mood – Likes toy balls and plush toys when she’s feeling playful – Loves looking out the window, smelling the fresh air, and sleeping on the couch – Not a fan of loud or sudden noises – Lived with young children previously and it was very stressful for her, so she’ll likely do best in a mature home – Happiest in calm, quiet environment – May have feline idiopathic cystitis, or FIC (more info at ARL) This cat has shown signs of overstimulation while in the shelter. Lots of handling, playing with hands, and excessive petting can cause them to overstimulate, which can result in scratching and/or biting. This cat is looking for experienced cat owners who will watch this cat’s body language while interacting to note signs of overstimulation (tail waving, fur rippling, dilated pupils, ears turned back and quick body movements) and be willing to respect their boundaries. This cat will also benefit from interactive toys such as wands and ball spinners while playing. We are happy to speak with you more when you visit and can provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat mental stimulation, patience and space when they need it, please consider adopting! They would love to be your sidekick and buddy for life! This pet is considered to be in their senior years and may enjoy calmer activities and environments. They may also have medical or behavior needs related to their age. All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) |
