Additional Details

– Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home

– Enjoys sniff walks and playing with toys

– Knows sit and likes treats

– Can be socially awkward around other dogs; also does not like to share his food and bones with other dogs, so if he is around other dogs some management of resources will be needed; may prefer to be the only dog in his home (dog intro required)

– Needs a home with no cats or small animals

– Tested heartworm positive and has received a full course of treatment; will receive a free recheck at the ARL in a few months to make sure he’s in the clear (more info at ARL)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
