– Active dog who is ready to accompany you on all your adventures; will love regular exercise in the form of walks, hikes, playtime or other fun things – Likes being petted and will come up and say hi; likes belly rubs – Loves playing with squeaky toys and balls, and his previous family said he would roll over onto his back playing with tennis balls and hold them with his front feet – Likes antlers and chews, loves going to the lake and is fascinated by the TV – Knows sit – May do best with a harness on walks – Was fully housetrained in his previous home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine – Has been known to jump fences, even high ones, so he’s looking for a family who will keep him on a leash or supervise him when outdoors to keep him safe and secure – Young, noisy or busy children are too much for him at this time (mature home recommended) – May enjoy a like-minded dog friend (dog intro recommended) – Needs a home with no cats and no chickens – May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
