– Busy pup who loves to connect with people through play and other activities; will likely enjoy physical activity and mental challenges to keep his mind and body busy – Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip and was a Very Good Boy: “He had a blast joining us for a picnic and a coffee run. The barista said she’d adopt him in a heartbeat! He loves car rides and has tons of happy energy. He had some nervous anxiousness the first half hour with us before deciding we were his new bffs.” – Knows sit and is treat motivated – Prefers not to be disturbed when playing with his toys and is looking for an adults-only home where all family members understand that and can work with him on it – Tends to be an introvert around other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends; may not be comfortable at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (dog intro recommended) – Didn’t seem super interested in other dogs he passed on walks on his Dog’s Day Out field trip This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
