Polly
Animal ID: 280503 |
![]() |
– Active dog who’s curious about the world around her; loves to be busy and connect with people through play and other activities – Very sweet and has a lot of love to give; likes giving hugs and gentle kisses – Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip: “Polly is the sweetest girl with the most outgoing personality! She wanted to meet every person and dog she passed on our walks. She’s also a big cuddle bug who loves getting pets. If you’re busy doing something else, she’ll just follow you around with a big smile and wagging tail! – Some of her favorite things are stuffies, balls, rope toys and chew bones – Knows sit, loves treats and takes them nicely – Does best with a harness on walks – Rides well in the car – Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her; would benefit from a more mature home where all family members are old enough and big enough to enjoy her bouncy energy – Tends to be a linebacker-type player with other dogs, which some dogs may not appreciate; will likely do best with a select group of rough-and-tumble dog friends with a similar play style (dog intro recommended) – May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
