– Loves to be busy and connect with people through play and other activities

– Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip: “Polly is the sweetest girl with the most outgoing personality! She wanted to meet every person and dog she passed on our walks. She’s also a big cuddle bug. If she could crawl inside of your skin, she still wouldn’t be close enough to you. She loves getting pets and wants all hands on deck at all times, and if you’re busy doing something else, she’ll just follow you around with a big smile and wagging tail!

– Knows sit and loves treats

– Does best with a harness on walks

– Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her; would benefit from a more mature home where all family members are old enough and big enough to enjoy her bouncy energy and help her learn to settle

– Tends to be a linebacker-type player with other dogs, which some dogs may not appreciate; will likely do best with a select group of rough-and-tumble dog friends with a similar play style (dog intro recommended)

– May have allergies (more info at ARL)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
