– Busy, active pup who loves to connect with people through play and other activities; will likely enjoy physical activity and mental challenges to keep her body and mind busy, but can also be very loving in quieter moments – Absolutely loves squeaky toys and chew toys and enjoys going on walks – Ready to accompany you on all your adventures; looking for a family who loves being active just like her – Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip: “We went on a walk, took her to play fetch, got her a pup cup and gave her a bath. She was the sweetest girl. She will do anything for a tennis ball!” – Very smart girl who knows sit and thinks things through; classes may be wonderful for her for learning new skills and perfecting her communication – Was fully housetrained in her previous home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine – May need time to get used to new people and animals, so slow introductions will be beneficial – May do well with older, more mature children; can forget her manners at times, so young, noisy or busy kids may not be an ideal fit for her right now – Tends to be socially awkward and introverted with other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends; may not be comfortable at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (dog intro required) – Needs a home with no cats This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
