– Very sweet lady who loves people, attention and cuddles – Likes to be near you to see what you’re doing, but is not a dog who needs to be next to you 100% of the time – Loves stuffed squeaky toys, adores playing fetch, and loves water – she’d probably love her own baby pool – Very smart and trainable; enjoys walks, does well on a leash and does great in the car – Spent time in a foster home and was a very polite houseguest; her foster family said she loved having her own toys, a yard to explore and a cozy chair to nap in – Was potty trained in her foster home and had no accidents; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule – May need extra time to warm up to new people and things and may prefer a calm, quiet home – Looking for a teens-and-up home with family members who will understand that she needs her space sometimes – Can be uncomfortable around other dogs and may need some time to warm up; also may prefer some dogs over others and would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required) – Has been diagnosed with arthritis in both knees (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
