– Prefers to explore and do her own thing here in the shelter, but will come over to check in and get some pets; will likely open up more once she’s in a home environment and has had time to decompress – Knows sit and loves treats as rewards – Looking for a teens-and-up home where all residents understand her need for space when eating or enjoying her favorite toys or chews – May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would likely enjoy a more low-key dog friend rather than a rough-and-tumble type and would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro recommended) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
