HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org. — – A gentle, calm girl who loves being around her people and getting attention – Very polite and does not usually jump on people – Does well on a leash – Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip and had a great time with her human companions: “Sugar is such a sweetheart with so much love to give. She would thrive in a home that can provide her all the love right back. She’s very chill, and would be happy in a quiet, calm environment.” – Appears to be potty trained here in the shelter, just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule and routine – Sweet, shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home – Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her; would benefit from a home with more mature family members who will give her time to settle in and help her build confidence – May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
