HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org — – Very friendly and affectionate cat who quickly bonds with her humans, and enjoys meeting new people – Likes being petted all over, including belly rubs and chin rubs – Serious lap cat that will happily sit in your lap for hours – Loves sleeping on the bed at night snuggling up next to her humans – Playful kitty who likes cat toys of all kinds – She will do best with someone who is home a lot; she will form a serious bond with her adopter, and will thrive with someone who can spend time with her – Can be food-anxious, getting nervous and vocal when her cat bowl is empty for long periods of time. An auto-feeder is recommended to give her several small servings of dry food throughout the day. She enjoys wet food for breakfast and will never say no to cat treats. – She will do best in a calm, quiet, and predictable environment where she is the only pet in her new home – She is currently eating Hills Science Diet C/D food – Young, busy children are not a great fit for her, but older children who are calm and will play with her may be okay – This cat has shown signs of overstimulation while in the shelter.
