– Friendly, curious fellow who welcomes lots of attention We suspect this cat has Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), inflammation of the bladder with unknown cause. FIC is fairly common in highly stressed cats. During routine urine screening microscopic amounts of blood were found. Radiographs showed no evidence bladder stones. FIC cats may be prone to bouts of inappropriate urination when stressed. Things you can do to reduce flare ups are increase water consumption, by either feeding a canned diet or using a water fountain, environmental enrichment, such as climbing trees, perches, brushing and new toys and litter box hygiene. Recommend that the litter box is cleaned frequently (some cats may require it daily), in a location that is low stress and easily accessible. Having multiple boxes in various locations may be needed. Any future needs are at the adopters cost and discretion. Please consult your veterinarian prior to adoption. If you choose to give this cat a chance then you will need to sign a waiver indicating you understand the aforementioned information. All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) |
