Limburger
Animal ID: 277680 |
![]() |
– Loves spending time with people and getting attention – Enjoys spending time outside and staying active, would be a great hiking buddy or companion for an outdoorsy person – Knows sit and is super food-motivated, so would probably love learning more skills with you – Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip and had a great time with her human companions: “Limburger was very sweet. She was very excited to see people, but had such great leash manners once we got walking! She’s very treat motivated so when people pass by with their dogs, I would have her sit and focus on me and give her treats! She responded to “Look!” and I’d give her a treat when she looked at me! She was very easy-going in the car and handled a car crate very well.” – Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her (mature home recommended) – May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others or smaller groups of dog friends; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro recommended) – We don’t know her history with cats This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
