HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet him, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org. — – A great mix of athletic and snuggly; has energetic moments, but also loves to curl up in bed or on a cozy chair and chill – Likes to be in your lap and may nose his way under your arm for extra cuddles – Named after the dog from “Up,” and has that same lovable-distractible-goober vibe – Loves walks and will do a little dance as you’re getting ready; does best with a harness since everything outside is very exciting! – Can be uncertain around new people, and prefers to make friends at his own pace – Fully housetrained in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to adjust to a new routine – Has been around many visiting dogs in his foster home and has done well after a slow introduction; can be a little awkward at first, but after he adjusts, he’s ready to be friends (dog intro recommended) – Did well with a visiting teenager, but young kids can be too much, so we think he’d be happiest in a more mature home – Looking for a home with no cats or small animals This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) Our shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe them based on personality, not breed label. |
