❤️Sometimes love is right in front of you … and you just miss the connection. This dog is part of our Missed Connections club – a group of our most patient pups who’ve been waiting longer than others to find their soulmate. Take a closer look – they could be your perfect match! Adoption fee: $45. A lifetime of love: Priceless.❤️

– Sweet, happy girl who loves spending time with people; gives lots of kisses and absolutely lights up when she sees her favorite humans

– Enjoys making friends and being petted and scratched

– Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip: “She did great! She was very excited to meet people and loved getting pets. She did a great job on her leash and with walking. She did a good job with some kids on our walk as well!”

– Knows sit and does well on a leash

– Can be socially awkward around other dogs, may take some time to warm up, and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required)

– Has a condition called hypothyroidism and is on a thyroid medication; will likely need lifelong medication and regular vet checks to manage her condition (more info at ARL)

– Arrived at the ARL overweight, partly due to hypothyroidism, but thanks to her medication, a healthy diet and a regular walks, she has lost about 20 pounds while in our care; looking for a family who will continue helping her shed some pounds so she can feel her very best

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
