– A combination of cuddle bug and goofball; always wants to be by your side or on top of you being held like a baby

– Loves all food and all toys, including tennis balls, Nylabones, stuffed toys, and Kongs filled with pumpkin or peanut butter – it all depends on his mood

– Good in the car and loves sticking his head out – it’s very funny watching his lips flap in the wind

– Enjoys sleeping in bed with his people and wants to have his head on the pillow as if he were human

– Knows sit and shake and is food-motivated

– Loves going on walks and does great on a harness, with little pulling unless he sees other dogs

– Has been pretty well potty trained in his foster home with few accidents; may need some help in his new home getting to 100%

– Has done very well in his foster family’s home with a fenced yard; may do fine with apartment-living as well, as he prefers to be indoors rather than out

– When left alone, his mission is finding any food that has been left out, so putting food items in secure places will be important

– Went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip while in the shelter: “He was very well-behaved. He did a good job with my kids and loved going on a walk. He enjoyed standing in the creek to cool off. We had a good time hanging out with him.”

– Has been great meeting new people, although he may be a bit much for smaller kids

– Seems to do well with most dogs, according to his foster family

– May have allergies (more info at ARL)

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing a primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
