When two girls were out for a walk, they didn’t expect to find a puppy clinging to life.
They noticed something that didn’t belong — a garbage bag with a food bowl on top. Curious, they followed a path of worn grass into an overgrown ditch. There, under a pile of thick bramble, they saw flicker of movement.
It was a quiet signal from a body that had almost nothing left to give.
Our Miracle Medical Team rushed the puppy, who we named Blossom, into emergency care as soon as she arrived.
At just 5 months old, she weighed only 9.7 pounds — far less than a large-breed puppy her age should. She was emaciated, severely dehydrated, urine-soaked, and so weak even lifting her head to drink from a bowl of water was too much. She lay motionless, every bone visible beneath her fragile frame. Our veterinarian said it was one of the worst cases of emaciation she had ever encountered.
With Blossom’s body temperature dangerously low, our team started her on IV fluids and tucked her into the warming-support system in our surgery suite. She weakly burrowed beneath the warmth she so desperately needed and laid her weary head on a stuffed animal, her eyes following her caregivers as they worked.
Blossom’s condition is still critical, and our team has been providing round-the-clock care. While she is still unable to sit or stand, we have seen small signs of hope. Her eyes are brighter, and she has been able to eat gruel with assistance. Our team is doing everything possible to help her survive.
But she needs you to help give her a chance.
Your gift now will provide lifesaving medical care, specialized nutrition, and continued 24/7 care for Blossom and other pets like her. Your monthly gift will help ensure our team is always ready for the next animal who arrives in crisis with nowhere else to turn.
Blossom can’t do this without you. Please give today to help this brave girl get the second chance she deserves.
