The ARL’s Silver Paw Pets program is for pets who have lived with a person who has passed away or has been moved to a residential facility and is unable to keep their pet. This program was created to provide foster homes for these pets when it's in their best interest, always giving them the best opportunity to find a loving family. If you're interested in fostering a Silver Paw Pet, please fill out the foster application.
How Silver Paw Pets Works
The ARL will:
- Provide all medical care and costs as needed and approved by the ARL’s veterinary staff.
- Provide one-on-one training and detailed information about the pet’s care, personality, and any medical needs or restrictions.
Foster homes will:
- Provide love and care for the pet.
- Provide supplies (ex: food, treats, toys) for the pet as needed. The ARL can provide assistance if needed.
- Communicate regularly with the Silver Paw coordinator to share updates or any concerns or questions about the pet's health or behavior.
- Coordinate any medical appointments with the Silver Paw coordinator and provide transport for the foster animal.
- Complete the foster home application process and sign the foster home agreement.
