HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. - Very sweet cat who LOVES to be petted; will flop on his back so you can rub his tummy
- Loves to lounge around on his side or back and enjoys ear scratches and being near you
- Likes looking out the window and can typically be found on his foster family's desk, where he has a good view of the outdoors
- Does cute little stretches when he walks
- Not a fan of the vacuum cleaner, but otherwise a pretty chill guy
- Has seen the dogs in his foster home and seems pretty relaxed, even when he hears them bark, although he has not interacted with them one-on-one
- Has also seen a resident cat in his foster home and doesn't seem bothered
This cat has tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus. FIV attacks the immune system leaving a cat vulnerable to recurrent infections. There currently is no cure for FIV, but infected cats can live fairly normal lives for years. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds. Casual contact such as sharing food/water bowls, mutual grooming, etc. is unlikely to spread FIV. However, we recommend that this cat be an only cat or live with other FIV+ cats. More info is on this cat's kennel, but if you have questions, please consult your regular veterinarian before adoption.
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
