Jake and Gordo are Bonded Buddies. They'll be adopted as a pair.
- Arrived as a semiferal kitten and has made progress in his foster home but will still need plenty of patience and time as he continues to open up and gain confidence
- Has a "safe spot" in his foster home where he still likes to stay a lot of the time, and it may be quite a while before he is comfortable enough with you to venture out when you're around; if his foster family approaches him slowly, he'll let them pet him and even purr and stretch out
- Fast approaches make him very uncomfortable, so he's looking for a calm, quiet, predictable home where he will have all the time he needs to come out of his shell
This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life!
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
