---
- Very friendly to new people and loves attention and pets; will curl up next to you on the couch so you can pet her and will look at you expressively if the scratches seem to slow or stop
- Once she knows you she'll be your shadow and follow you everywhere
- The best cuddler who loves to sleep on the bed and HAS to be touching you; likes to go under the covers from time to time and has a cute snore
- Happy to spend time with you no matter what you're doing, whether it's going on a walk or run or just chilling on the couch
- Has BIG wiggly butt energy
- Loves squeaky toys, and her foster family said she liked being by them and/or being petted while she performed her "squeakerectomy" on them; also enjoys spending time outdoors and is getting really good at fetch
- Likes to hide her bones to save for later but will gobble any treats right up
- Knows sit and shake and had no potty accidents while in her foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule
- Doesn't mind car rides and enjoys hanging her head out the window feeling the breeze
- Was a polite housemate while in her foster home and didn't bark no matter what noises she heard from traffic or neighboring condos; also did not beg for food - just may give a few longing looks
- Tends to be uncomfortable around young children (needs a teens-and-up home right now)
- Can be uncomfortable and fearful/reactive toward other dogs; may prefer to be the only dog in her new home or may prefer a like-minded dog friend with a similar energy level (dog intro required)
- Needs a home with no cats
- Overall, a low-maintenance dog that's just happy to be near you, take naps on the couch and watch the world go by out the window
- Was extremely uncomfortable with certain medical handling, specifically vaccines/needles, when she arrived, and has worked extensively with our behavior team on this while in our care; while she has come a long way, she will still benefit from going to a Fear Free-certified vet in her new home
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
