Additional Details
- Loves cuddles, booty scratches, treats, toys, quiet times and being with his people
- Great at giving kisses and loves to sneak them in when you least expect it
- Very passionate about his favorite hobby: keeping an eye on nearby squirrels
- Has been on several Dog's Day Out field trips where he went on walks and hikes, met a lot of people and had a great time. Here's what just one of his human companions told us: "He loves sniffing and has amazing leash manners. He was great in the car and settled down quickly. He's a huge snuggler and very smart. He loved meeting a couple of our friends but didn't pull toward people or bark at them. He tired out after a half hour of slow walking and sniffing. I put a towel down on the porch for him and he fell asleep on it soon after. He'd be a fantastic dog for somebody."
- Knows sit, come, down, shake, stay and sit pretty
- Has done well with older children who understand how to be respectful of his space but can become uncomfortable with children who are in his face and don't understand boundaries; may prefer a more mature home at this time
- Prefers not to share his living space with other dogs; needs to be the only dog in his home
- Needs a home with no cats
- Had a benign tumor removed from his mouth and will likely need monitored by a veterinarian for possible recurrence (more info at ARL)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
