Additional Details
Homer is a gorgeous pony gelding who is about 10 years old and stands 12 hands tall. He loves attention and spending time with people, being groomed and does great going through our obstacle course. He is extremely smart and will thrive in a home where he has a job and is being taught new skills and is handled often to keep his brain engaged. Homer has received a solid foundation of groundwork during his time with our staff, and is very receptive to body language. He can be a bit pushy, but does extremely well for a confident handler. He is easy to halter, lead, brush and pick out all hooves, and our staff is working with him on his skills with the farrier. Homer is a high energy pony and will take the top of the pecking order if another horse hasn't. He would do best in a herd of horses where there is already a confident leader, or where he can have his own separate space from friends. Homer is started under saddle and has done very well in that training with no bucking or strong reactions. Due to him initially coming in with severe slipper feet, our vets have recommended Homer is recommended to only be a walk/trot pony and be ridden lightly.
