HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org. — – This girl only needs your love and attention to be happy; meets just about everyone with a big smile and wagging tail! – Has proven to be surprisingly spry for an older gal, though still can boast that she’s a pretty easy house guest in her foster home and is more than ready for her next adventure – She has been gentle and curious about other pets both in and around her foster’s home; she’s likely enjoy another dog friend to lounge with and has been a rather attentive babysitter to her family’s foster kittens – Could likely be happy in either a large or small living space; really just needs a little bit of extra time to settle into a new home but once comfortable, doesn’t need much to be content! – Is pretty reliably housebroken once adjusted to a new home’s routine – Does well home by herself, despite getting nervous without her people there, as evidence by the drool she sometimes leaves behind…she’s working on remembering that you’re coming back soon! – Gets in touch with her inner Labrador Retriever when it’s time for fetch but not so much when it’s time for treats (we haven’t found a motivating snack for her yet). However, after retrieving her ball 3-4 times, she’s ready to go back inside! – Her favorite activity to do with her person is WALKS and would happily sniff about with you for as long as you’ll let her The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
