– Came from a situation where he did not get the socialization and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age, but has grown a lot in his foster home; still may struggle with new situations, show uncertainty with everyday objects, need help understanding leashes, and need patience and structure with housetraining

– Will benefit from a calm, predictable home with patient people who will let him go at his own pace and provide gentle, positive reinforcement to help build confidence over time

– Has been slowly warming up to his foster family, and follows them from room to room, investigates what they’re doing, and sometimes even begs for lap time; loves pets and ear scratches

– Still getting used to life in a home, and can be startled by sudden movements

– Loves doing zoomies with the other dog in his foster home; would benefit from having a friendly, confident dog in his new home to help show him the ropes

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
