HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org. — – Came from a situation where he had limited exposure to normal household things; will need patience, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement as he continues to learn to navigate life in a home – Will need time to acclimate to new people, patience with potty training, and a very secure environment to keep him safe, particularly if he’s startled outdoors – Looking for a calm, predictable home with people who can provide patience, time and gentle, positive guidance to help him continue to grow in confidence – Has become more curious with each passing day in his foster home – Will take treats from his foster family’s hand, and food may be the way to his heart – Routine is his friend, so he’s looking for someone who can give him that consistency – Has done well with the other dog in his foster home and may enjoy a dog friend in his new home to help show him the ropes – Curious about the cat in his foster home, but the cat is not interested The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
