– Prefers to explore and do their own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once they’re in a home environment and have had time to decompress – Loves to learn and has great focus – especially if you have treats – so would be a lot of fun to train – Smart boy knows sit Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs (dog intro required) – Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home – Loves going on walks and does best with a harness – Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
