HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org. — – Super sweet; loves to play outside or with the other dogs in his foster home, then is good to lay down and play with toys or take a nap – Great at snuggles! – So fun to watch run around and play; very cute and clumsy and always flopping over – Occasionally decides he is an independent gentleman and does not want to come inside, but will let you carry him in – Still learning about walking on a leash and tends to think it’s playtime, but does better when there’s another dog there for him to watch and learn from – Foster family says he has done really well with potty training lately and has only had one accident in 5 days; has been able to go four hours in his kennel without having an accident – Goes into his kennel and settles down nicely at night and when you leave. – Has been sleeping in his crate at night but would prefer to sleep in bed with you – Foster family says he sleeps well through the night – Has gotten along GREAT with the other dogs in his foster home and would probably love having dog friends! All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
