HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.

– A sweet girl who starts out shy, but once she opens up she’s the silliest sweet baby; loves spending time with people and sitting in laps

– Will be right beside you wherever you go and loves to cuddle up in bed at the end of the day

– Foster family says she is a curious girl who handles city noises weather and sirens well; not a fan of loud sudden noises like slamming doors

– Enjoys running in our dog park – it seems to be her favorite way to exercise!

– A great pup to go on walks with; may get a little excited when she sees other dogs or outdoor critters on walks

– Super into treats and loves enrichment toys that use them; would likely be fun to train using treats

– Does well in her crate with a KONG or other treat while her foster family is away; foster family says she does not bark and has not had any accidents in her crate

– Always super excited to see her people when they return home

– Still working on potty training in her foster home; foster family says she goes potty outside and has spots she likes to go, but sometimes has accidents inside during transitions between activities

– Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her (mature home recommended)

– Can be socially awkward and may need time to warm up to new dogs; may prefer to be the only dog in her home and would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required)

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
