HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org. — – Such a good boy – easygoing, gentle and loves attention; has the sweetest heart and wants to please – Favorite pastime is sleeping; in his foster home, he lies down in his kennel or on the couch and sleeps most of the day, waking up for pets, food, and potty breaks – Does well on a leash and prefers shorter walks vs. long ones – often he’d rather just go back home and relax; he’s a very low-maintenance guy – Hasn’t shown much interest in toys but does like running around in a fenced area – Does well home alone when his foster mom is away and just likes to lie around and lounge – Appears to be either completely or mostly potty trained in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine – Has been doing fine with apartment life in his foster home – Has done well in the car and typically lies down in the back and sleeps – Has been living with a small dog and doing well with him; seems interested in other dogs and typically just sits and watches them when he sees them; may enjoy a like-minded dog friend or may also be totally fine as your one and only – We don’t know his history with kids and cats All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
