– Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip and had a great time with her human companions: “Maybelle is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. She was kind to adults and children alike. She also didn’t seem to mind any other nearby animals, including clucking chicks at Bomgaars and screeching birds near the lake. She did great in the car and loved to take everything in. Walking her was a breeze, she rarely pulled and was mostly right by my side. She also never barked or jumped. She’s a big cuddler! She took a little nap right in my lap d she loves to be pet.”

– Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style

– Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended)

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
