– Wiggly boy who likes people and will come up and say hi; loves pets and will lean in for them – Loves rummaging through our toy bin and picking out his toys; happiest carrying around a toy in his mouth – Will likely open up more once he’s in a home environment and has had time to decompress – Knows sit and likes treats – Does best with a harness on walks and loves spending time outside – Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him; may benefit from a more mature home where everyone is big enough to be OK with his size and energy – Sometimes isn’t sure how to act around other dogs and can be socially awkward; may prefer to be the only dog or only pet in his home (dog intro recommended) – We don’t know his history with cats – May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
