– Loves to sniff around and smell everything; enjoys snuffle mats and interactive treat-dispensing toys

– Once he feels comfortable, he’s super lovable; enjoyed going on walks and getting a pup cup on a recent Dog’s Day Out field trip

– May need extra time to warm up to new people, things and situations, including cars, steps and unexpected noises; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home

– Would benefit from a patient home with family members who will help him continue to build confidence; is more confident when he has time to think things through, and can get frustrated and wiggly when he is unsure – so he’s looking for a family who understands that and can work with him

– Knows sit and is very food-motivated

– Young yet and can be bouncy and forget his mouth manners when he is excited or frustrated, but he has done well redirecting his energy to treats and toys when they’re offered

– Can be unsure how to interact with other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups; may enjoy a dog friend who can give him the space he needs to learn how to interact (dog intro recommended)

– Young, noisy or busy children may be too much for him (mature home recommended)

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
