HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email cjohnson@arl-iowa.org.

– An absolute love bug with a huge heart

– Can be shy with new people but warms up fairly quickly with the help of treats

– Goofy pup who loves toys and being silly

– Likes belly scratches and will roll around on her back when she wants pets

– Loves to learn and has great focus – especially if you have treats – so would be a lot of fun to train (already knows sit, stay and lay down)

– Foster family says she is potty trained and does great in her kennel; knows to go in her kennel at bedtime and after her morning walk

– May do best with a harness on walks

– Very patient when you feed her, foster family says she will wait to eat until you tell her it’s okay

– Looking for a teens-and-up home right now

– May prefer some dogs over others and would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs, but has done very well with two other dogs in her foster home and plays gently with the smaller one (dog intro recommended)

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
