HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email Kathryn at kvry@arl-iowa.org. — – May take some time to warm up to new people, but has been building relationships in the shelter environment – Will need a 13+ home at this time; may do well in a mature and predictable home. – Uses those she knows well for confidence in new situations and when interacting with new people – When comfortable, she loves to be pet and engage with those she knows well. – Is very uncomfortable interacting with other dogs and will need to be the only dog in her home. – Has great potential to build confidence through pattern games (more discussions at ARL) – Will enjoy staying busy mentally and physically in her next home This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
