– Affectionate and energetic once he’s comfortable with you; overall a happy guy with the most amazing ears

– Thrives with exercise and mental stimulation, and he’s looking for someone who will enjoy keeping him active to help him fully calm and settle

– Likes to be touching his people whenever possible, and loves sleeping in bed with them at night

– Can have some anxiety when meeting new people and does best with slow introductions that allow him to build trust and confidence

– Very intelligent, knows sit and is perfect during leash walks; also very food- and toy-motivated, so he could probably learn anything you want to teach him

– Has been potty trained in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine

– Is crate-trained and very comfortable being in his crate; has done pretty well when his foster family has tried letting him roam free when they’re gone

– Loves the older kids in his foster home and enjoys spending time in their rooms, relaxing on the bed with them and just being near them – he loves being part of a family; young kids may be too much for him at this time, so we’d recommend any kids in his new home be more mature

– Sometimes isn’t sure how to act around other dogs and can be socially awkward, but enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style; can be a bouncy, goofy player but is good at backing off when his play gets too rowdy for his dog friends (dog intro recommended)

– May have allergies (more info at ARL)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
