– Happy-go-lucky, energetic and affectionate once he’s comfortable; gets the zoomies often

– Looking for someone who can give him the exercise, mental stimulation and engagement he needs to thrive; keeping him active helps him stay settled and happy

– Loves sleeping in bed with his people at night with his belly up; likes to be touching his people whenever possible

– Does best with slow introductions to new people

– Food is his biggest temptation, and he’ll find any you leave out on the counter (try it if you dare!)

– Knows sit and is very food-motivated so he’d be a lot of fun to train

– Does beautifully on a leash; walks right alongside you and does not pull

– Has been potty trained in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine

– Is crate-trained and very comfortable being in his crate; has done fairly well when his foster family has tried letting him roam free when they’re gone, but he does get into a little mischief sometimes

– Has done well with the older kids in his foster home and enjoys spending time in their rooms, relaxing on the bed with them and just being near them; young kids may be a bit much for him right now, so we’d recommend that any kids in his new home be more mature

– Sometimes isn’t sure how to act around other dogs and can be socially awkward, but enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style; can be a bouncy, goofy player but is good at backing off when his play gets too rowdy for his dog friends (dog intro recommended)

– May have allergies (more info at ARL)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
