HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.

– Just a big teddy bear who loves being by your side and will flop into your arms for hugs and attention

– Very curious and enjoys exploring new place

– Has lots of energy and is always down for an activity or adventure

– Loves playing with all kinds of toys, especially her favorite bear plush; enjoys playing fetch

– Able to keep herself entertained in her foster family’s backyard and would probably love a home with a fenced-in yard where she can run and play freely

– Loves to learn and has great focus – especially if you have treats – so would be a lot of fun to train

– Foster family says she has learned sit, down and jump!

– Working on learning how to handle her excitement when playing and understand how much energy the people she’s playing with can handle

– Can be anxious on car rides

– Foster family says she has been making progress on potty training and does not have accidents in the house while they’re home, but may need some help from her new family to get to 100%, especially when left home alone

– Tends to be an bouncy and extra playful around other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends after a slow and regulated introduction; may not be successful at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (prefer to be the only dog)

– Foster family says she has seemed friendly when walking past other dogs on walks

– Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended)

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
