HOW TO ADOPT: This pup is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet her, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org. — – A cute, curious cuddle bug who loves taking naps with you but also enjoys playing and running around; thrives on attention and affection – Rides well in the car – Knows sit and go to bed and will sometimes even walk herself into her kennel when she knows her fosters are leaving; used to being kenneled when her foster family is not home, and when they get home she’s ready to go outside and play – Still working on leash walking and can pull a bit right now; a harness may be great for her – Sometimes barks at new people, but once she gets a sniff she’s very playful and loves the attention – Has been great with potty training when she’s kept on a consistent schedule; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine – Her foster family said she loves having space to run around but would do fine in an apartment as long as she gets regular walks and playtime – Did amazing with a child who visited her foster home and loved playing fetch and giving kisses; can be a bit jumpy when excited but is very gentle – Did well when meeting a dog in her foster home, and loved running and playing with them – We don’t know her history with cats All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
