– Friendly with new people and likes laps, pets and attention – Super into treats, including whipped cream – Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip and was a cuddly companion: “We took him on a walk and let him run in the backyard. He’s a big lover, and he is good with older kids!” – Likes to explore new places – Already knows sit, shake and stay – Not a fan of loud noises, including thunder and fireworks; would prefer a quieter home – Has done well with school-age kids; can be a bit bouncy when he’s excited so will likely do best with kids who are old enough and big enough to be OK with that – May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required) – Is not a fan of cats and needs a home without them – May have allergies (more info at ARL) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
