HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org. — – Loves to be cozy! Give this girl a soft bed or couch and a snuggly blanket and she’ll be snoring in minutes – A total cuddle bug and lap dog who is always seeking affection; personal space? Never heard of it – Pulls a bit on the leash during walks to get in all the good smells, but her foster family said it’s manageable with a harness – After a nice walk and play session in the yard she is totally content cuddling and napping on the couch the rest of the day – Knows sit – Her foster family said she appears to be potty trained and has done very well with a consistent schedule in their home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine – Does well in her crate while her foster family is gone and also at night, but she does prefer to sleep in bed with her people – Will greet you with zoomies around the house when you come home, whether you’ve been gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours – Has been doing great with the toddler in her foster home; however, some very busy or noisy kids may be too much for her, so she’d love to meet the whole family to make sure everyone is a great fit! – Interested in playing with other dogs but is good at respecting their cues if they don’t want to; may be a bit of an introvert at times, but she has won over a smaller dog in her foster home and they like to nap together and spoon – We don’t know her history with cats This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
