Additional Details

– Friendly, cuddly girl with a big heart who loves meeting new people and getting love from everyone; she’s as happy to lounge around and soak up affection as she is playing with toys – and she LOVES booty scratches

– Likes tennis balls and playing fetch, and also likes stuffed toys, bones, and food enrichment such as Kongs, lick mats and snuffle mats

– Curious and loves to go on adventures – would be a great walking or hiking buddy; walks pretty well on a leash, but may pull when she gets excited, so a harness will be ideal for outings

– LOVES the car and is always ready to go for a ride – she hops right in!

– Knows sit and down and has a good start on shake

– Spent time in a foster home and did pretty well with potty training; may need some help from her new family to get all the way there

– Not a fan of kennels or other enclosed spaces, but did well free-roaming in her foster home when her family was out

– Showed discomfort with young children being around her things and not respecting boundaries in a previous home; has done well with respectful older children and will do best in a more mature home (ideally ages 10 and up)

– Has been very uncomfortable around other dogs and tends to avoid them; needs to be the only dog in her new home

– Tends to want to chase cats, so she’ll do best in a home without them

– Has been diagnosed with medial patellar luxation in one knee; also may have allergies (more info at ARL)

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
