HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.

– Incredibly sweet dog and a huge cuddle bug who jumps up on the bed and wiggles until you lay down … and then tries to be the little spoon

– Perfect for people who want a dog who doesn’t need to be attached to them at all times; his foster family said he does well doing his own thing, but he’ll come lay his head on their lap when he wants some love

– Absolutely loves people and has been great meeting new people in his foster home

– Likes chewing on bones and snoring

– Knows sit and does very well on a leash

– Does well in the car but sometimes wants to be in your lap

– Has been working on potty training in his foster home and is learning to ask when he needs to go out; has been making progress every day but may still need some help from his new family to get 100% there

– Has been living with a dog in his foster home and doing well, but he can be socially awkward and an introvert with some dogs and prefers those that respect his space, so he may not enjoy all types of dog personalities (dog intro required)

– Has been living with a cat in his foster home but is conflicted about how he feels about the cat; we recommend a slow introduction to any resident cats

– We don’t know his history with children

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
