HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.

– Cuddly velcro dog who wants to be with her people at all times; will look at her human like they hung the moon for just existing

– One of the happiest dogs around and is always excited to meet new friends

– Will claim any soft blanket, cozy couch spot or bed as her own

– Loves balls, stuffies and peanut butter lick mats; is an A+ beggar for human food

– Loves to do zoomies and loves playing in the snow; would probably enjoy a home with a fenced yard where she can run and play

– Does pretty well on a leash; her foster family said she pulls when she’s excited but it’s manageable

– Is a great traveler in the car and just sits and watches the world go by

– Knows sit, out (a cue to leave a room), and potty/outside

– Has been potty trained and crate trained in her foster home; just remember any dog may need time to adjust to a new schedule

– Has done very well home alone when crated, and has also done well with free roam of the house at night

– Young, noisy or busy children may be too much for her (mature home recommended)

– Has been living with a dog in her foster home and loves to wrestle, play tug, and play chase; may be a bit of a rowdy player and can be socially awkward, but enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style (dog intro recommended)

– Has been curious but respectful of cats in her foster home and would like to be friends if the cat allows it

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
