Ambrose
Animal ID: 260663 |
![]() |
– Loveable guy who adores everyone he meets and thrives on attention – Always wagging his tail like it’s his favorite pastime – Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip and had a great time with his human companions: “Ambrose is very goofy and lovable and loves attention! He was anxious in the car, but as soon as he was snuggled, he calmed down. He loved having the windows down! He has a big head but an even bigger heart.” – Wiggly and excited in new environments – Will be your little shadow at home and likes to be close to you at all times, whether you’re playing or just snuggling on the couch together – Has a curious mind and enjoys tackling puzzle toys and games like tug-of-war – Enjoys going on walks and does best with a harness – Loves to learn and has great focus – especially if you have treats – so would be a lot of fun to train; already knows sit – Always excited for meal times and LOVES treats; great and taking treats gently – May whine at first in his crate, but does great after settling down – Tends to be socially awkward and a linebacker-type player with other dogs, which some dogs may not appreciate; will likely do best with a select group of rough-and-tumble dog friends with a similar play style (dog intro recommended) – Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you’re interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
