HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.
---
- May be a bit shy at first, but will then open up and spend time on your lap
- She also has an independent side and will venture off an do her own thing, like exploring her home, or taking a nap
- LOVES to make biscuits when she is relaxed and happy and has a very loud purr that she loves to share
- Looking for a quiet, predictable home without children
- Front declawed
- Loud noises and fast movements can be scary to her
- She will thrive in a calm, quiet home with one or two people who like the quiet life just like she does
- May have feline idiopathic cystitis, a condition that can appear in times of stress (more info at ARL)
This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life!
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
