– May prefer to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once he’s in a home environment and has had time to decompress – Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip: “He’s very sweet and curious and loves to follow you around and see what you’re up to. He liked to do laps around the fenced yard, and will jump in your lap.” – Does well on a leash – Was fully potty trained and crate-trained in his previous home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine – Can be uncomfortable around some children, so he’s looking for a teens-and-up home right now – Enjoys like-minded dog friends – Can be socially awkward around other dogs, but may enjoy a more chill dog friend (dog intro recommended) – Did well with cats in his previous home The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. |
