– Recently went on a Dog’s Day Out field trip and had a great time with his human companions: “Gunner would love a big yard to run around in and play fetch with his tennis ball for as long as you’re willing. Whenever he did take a break, he was cuddling with us. He still has the energy of a puppy!”

– Loves to connect with people through play and other activities; will likely enjoy physical activity and mental challenges to keep his body and brain busy

– Knows sit and down and is very treat-motivated

– Loves going on walks and does best with a harness

– Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended)

Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs but may enjoy having dog friends that match his play style (dog intro recommended)

– Needs a home with no cats

– Has been diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia in one hip (more info at ARL)

All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)

The ARL’s shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
