HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.

– Friendly, affectionate girl who loves being petted and will give you head bumps and purrs to show you how much she loves you

– Mostly a lounger and a napper in her foster home but also likes to explore and gets the zoomies sometimes

– Likes being wherever her people are and will occasionally curl up in her foster family’s lap; also likes sleeping in bed with them at night, occasionally snuggling up next to their faces

– Enjoys sitting in a cat tree by a window, especially when it is sunny

– Mostly calm and quiet, but she has an expressive voice when she has something to say

– Loves treats and has a strong preference for wet food but will nibble on dry food if it’s left out between meals; has been using a pet water fountain well in her foster home but will also use a bowl

– Transitions can be hard for her, so she’s looking for a calm, quiet home with someone who will give her extra time and space to settle in if she needs that

– Was stressed around other cats while in the shelter environment and may be happiest as the only pet in her new home

– Mostly black with an adorable white tip on her tail

– May have feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC); also, is doing well on prescription medication to manage anxiety (more info at ARL)

All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
